“Through the use of nature and art, children are able to
“freely” express matters of the heart.”
Specialty: Helping children ages 3 ½ - 12 yrs. old with issues of grief and loss experienced through sickness, death of a loved one, divorce, natural disasters and traumatic events.
I have a passion for working with young children and their families. I want to share the Anthetic approach to personal living and developing. As I work with children, my goal is to instill a sense of inner strength and peace –long before the walls of the Inner Critic “shoulds” are built.
From as far back as I can remember, I have been interested in psychology.
An introduction to Anthetics came after my return to college as a full-time student at age 47. Previously, I was a Pre-school Teacher in New Orleans for 12 years and the owner/operator of a children’s Art/Entertainment business. A flexible schedule allowed me to be home with my twin sons – now young adults, my greatest achievement!
Although my Early Childhood Education Degree served me well as a Pre-school teacher, I have since discovered child-centered therapy approaches as a means of equipping children with communication skills for dealing with their emotions and the challenges they face throughout their lives.
I use a non-directive therapeutic approach coupled with the principles of Anthetic Therapy. Through the use of Creative Coping Strategies, children experience increased self-reliance and personal empowerment. They learn how to ask for what they want and get their needs met. I love to watch their relationships grow healthier and their lives become more fulfilling.
When your child enters the enchanted space of the Anthetic Play Room, they will find a “magical place” in which to become free of emotional pain and confusion. They will be given the freedom to heal and grow in a non-threatening nurturing environment.
